Powered aithe, always connected better. Most of the HD failures are due to frequent power disruptions. The platter can spin non-stop for years with no issues. If you are starting/stopping frequently, it gets on to the performance/failure. |

portables ki failure rate ekkuva. Nenu usual ga, power external HDDs ni desktop ki always connected ga unchutha. But, portables nu just data/media transfer ku vadutha. Portables lo data ni permanent ga (only copy) unchadam koncham risky. |

Jalsa:simba tammud, HDD ki ye brand best? Western Digital, Seagate, IOmega? also portable drives reliability baagodhu ani vinnaa, nijamenaa?
For internal HDD, Seagate is best, hands down. Most of the time, External HDDs fail avuthuntayi. That is because of frequent disruption of power. If it is a powered external HDD, keep it powered and connected (via USB) all the time. It will not degrade the performance. For, portables (which do not need external power), it is OK to disconnect (from USB). Western Digital is better in the external HDD (powered) world. For non-powered any brand is OK. |

King:Thank you. Can you please tell me why Klipsch speakers is better than Energy Take Classic or Micro as both are from same manufacturer. I am asking this as Klipsh cots around $600 and Energy Take costs around $400 TIA
Energy speakers excel in towers. For small satellites Klipsch are better. If you have a chance, go for a demo and listen for yourself. You wouldn't go wrong with either of them. |
