there should be more cynicism n sick ism  in the characterization for the movie to be called a noir....every movie will have good n evil pitted against each other....its the manner in which the evil is portrayed in the play makes a movie a noir.... for eg...the master of noirs....roman polanski....his china town...the villain....he impragnates his own daughter....and then rosemary baby....the devil putting a bun in the oven of the hheroine....these are pretty cynic dramas which qualify as noirs.....city of lost children is an adult fairy tale like pans labyrynth.... | ||
