This is the only movie I was disappointed in Hritik's performance...He looked great but his accent,body language and every thing else seems fake...Hope he will not repeat these expensive mistakes...Its a soul less fake Love Story | ||

Kites is the story of two free spirited souls who shouldn't be together cause of the paths they chose but they still come together cause they both suffer from any two passionate lovers suffer from which is self destruction.. The movie starts on this theme with a voice over of hrithik and visuals of two kites with the back drop of blue sky n lavish landscapes n spectacular putography providing a perfect metaphor for the plot we are about to witness... The movie does start on a promising note.... But then the rest of the movie is like very very uneven ....there are some moments like that are really grippin and there are moments like which will force you to go for a smoke even thouggh ur a non smoker....and the problem is the boring n yawning moments completely overtake the adrenalin moments that at the end you feel like you got robbed for wasting your time on this movie.... The reason for movies let down is Hrithik and Dialogues and direction.... Hrithik hams man....seriously he overacts so much that he reminds u of srk from Karan Johar movies....he is crying like a sissy in whole movie whenever he is required to show pain and cause of the reason u end up feeling loathing for him for his self pity than sympathizing with his predicament....and he acts like he knows he looks cute and ends up like a 5 year old immature dude who loves blushing at every other opportunity.... The second reason why this movie sucked is dialogue....the dialogues gets on to ur nerves...."i love u....when i was a kid mummy died...when i was ung papa died ..when i was 13 i got hernia" .... wtf man..show some imagination in dialogues.....U see, this movie had a scope for some amazing dialogue...cause its about two people who dont understand each others language and they r free to express themselves uninhibited in their mother tongue cause they dont have to be afraid wat the other person is going to think cause they cant understand anything....so they could be poetic u know.... There is this movie called "Love actually" and there is this episode of an english writer who falls in love with a Portuguese maid working for him....and the conversations between those two are like so honest U really feel for their characters.....cause they look so real....wish they have borrowed that idea than feeding us these corny dialogues that wants u to throw up everytime hrithik mouths them.... The last reason why this movie sucked is Direction....except a couple of places here n there u feel like ur watching a high budgeted HBO late night adult movie...where one guy lusts for other guys wife n vice versa....and the climax is a rip off from dat legendary scene from Road to perdition where jake sullivan massacres the whole rooney empire with a manchine gun in the backdrop of rain.... The good things about movie is Barbara mori....she gave such a sincere performance that she saves the movie....watch out for her reaction when she slaps hrithik for trying to get rid of her for her own safety or watever....she is awesome....now these guys messed up her career...chass... The Bg score is OK...but after a while the soulful crooning for OOOOOO makes u go crazy....but the good thing is there are no songs....they r woven into narration so the movies duration is reduced and before the devil knows ur dead... if u want to watch it watch it for barbaras performance n hrithiks dance in first song n if u like watching travel channel cause they shown some amazing landscapes in this movie.....other than that its just another junk flick from mumbai and hrithik who is supposed to be the saviour lets the movie down and iam starting to doubt his acting capabilities.... |
