Elcaminocapastrino:Nothing against offshoring but these ceos should not think about money all the time
Every CEO will have not of pressure to increase profits for their company.....so they are going for offshoring to save money.........Why are you saying it is OK for IT Offshoring and not for Business Processes ? Nowadays lot of companies are going to Philipines when compared to india for offshoring |

Seriously I dont understand it....IT offshoring is justifiable...better programmers cheap resources and the no of IT jobs that offshore gains will not be that much at the expense of americans....its true.... Now these ceos are inclining towards offshoring the business processes too.... For eg...lets take an Accounts Recievable analyst....responsible for dealing with customer payments n deductions n collections n wat not..and a cash application clerk responsible for applying cash recieved from various sources or an AR manager who generates n reviews reports for DSOs n cash forecasting n stuff like n takes necessary steps to address the cash flow and a deduction manager who contacts the customer to investigate deductions verify claims n stuff like that ...Now with this BP offshore model none of these people will have jobs man...I mean the offices will be deserted as there is no need for anyone...In the current org iam working for, 50 people got laid off man in various departments ranging from manufacturing to treasury......and most of them are around 50 years with no value addition or anything doing the same thing for 10 or 20 years.... Nothing against offshoring but these ceos should not think about money all the time....and if BP s are completely offshored it wont take much time for americans to vent their frustration to the faces of desis.....but we r not the culprits its the management... |
