you can count me in that 1%. I have never given lancham to anybody to get things done and never intend to. So I think I do not have the right to expect system to work as it should? When agents are able to get passports for their candidates within few weeks it is apparent that there is a HUGE SCAM in the passport offices where agents are dealing with the officials inside and clearing out passport applications which come with the necessary "amyamyam". big farce. TCS has the contract for passport now and their commitment is 45-60 days. 1 LAKH passport applications pending in HYD office. due to telangana issue, students JAC issue, state govt busy in bandhs etc etc COPs verification is pending leading to piling of heaps. oridnary passports will take 6-8 months to clear. tatkaal may take 2 months to clear. HYD office is understaffed, they are unable to issue more than 1,000 passports per day. imagine the 1 lakh pending to clear | ||

What is happening in Hyderabad passport office. My parents applied for a renewal of passport 4 months ago hoping to accompany us back here during our trip recently. They are still awaiting their renewed passport. The mistake they have done is not to go through a broker and directly submitting. Numerous representations to the PRO has fallen on deaf ears. I finally sent an email to the Main passport office in Delhi and called up the passport office asking them why it has taken them 4 months to issue a renewal of passport and blasted them and today my parents got a call from PRO in hyderabad to come and verify themselves that they are indeed the applicants and then they are going to issue the passport within a week. It has become impossible for common man to get a passport these days without bribing and using agents and spending anywhere between 5000-10000 for a passport. what do you think?
