i m not heavy itunes user..infact i hate it...it was a resource hog... apple mini lo plex ane free s/w undi...it can play all our movies from HD.. cons lo meeru chppinavi: >>Limited codec support >>Software is not free usually Plex will take care of this...it will play anythng we throw at like mkv etc n also catalog movies by d/l info frm imbdb...and its free s/w >>Difficult to upgrade the hardware it might be a con..since its a htpc current mini's should suffice for a longtime...since we dont need much cpu power..lack of bluray is a con too...but most probably I play only bluray rips n buy a standalone bluray for this puprose in future.. | ||

Inko TV lo choodali ante, you need some device to receive the feeds, that is connected to 2nd TV, usually an extender. For example: XBox 360 Netgear/Dlink extender Popcorn hour This device should be in the same network, wireless or wired. | ||

I built one HTPC out of interest (4-5 years ago), which turned out to be expensive than any off-the-shelf product. But, I don't mind spending towards my hobby. Many sites have guides to build everything from scatch. Once completed, it works fine, until there is need for upgrade. For example: when I started, there was no HDMI, no bluray, no HD tuners. So, if I followed an old guide, I would be stuck with that setup. Instead, go with a generic setup where there is a scope to add/upgrade as the technologies change. Bottomline, you can purchase everything that an HTPC does, at cheaper price. But, the fun is to setup one yourself and keep tweaking... | ||

If you are heavy iTunes user, with all your media ripped and added to iTunes then you can consider this option. Otherwise go with anything that is not made by Apple:-) Pros: Easy to setup out-of-the-box. Tiny form factor, gels with a/v rack Software is stable and reliable compared to windows Cons: Limited codec support Difficult to upgrade the hardware Software is not free usually | ||

mini can do all tht...its a computer...so open telugu channels in browser and u get them on TV... there are specific keyboards with mouse in the keyboard itself for this task.. also if u have iphone/touch u can use tht as a keyboard/mouse with mini.. also for another TV in another room..latest 802.11n wireless technology is built into mini..so i guess it might be possible | ||

One of my major requirement, if i think of upgrading my current setup: Online movies atleast 480p ainaa parledu.. choodagalagaali..
