While credit is due to Advani, he was the true superstar of BJP before the secular media dwarfed him by making Atal Bihari larger than him. But, i thought it was a mistake to project him as PM candidate, he was too old. Then again, there was no one else and like you mentioned elsewhere, Modi's time is in the next elections. | ||

Advani deserved a chance bhayya .. even MMS is no youngster .. he is 78 now .. Yes I wish modi should rule India but problem with pseudo secular media.Unfortynately not even on TV channel or newspaper supporting BJP.Also Advani did big mistke by not stepping down form leadership and should have done that 5 yeras ago | ||

Big B is a known face. Kerala could've picked some malayali actor/director, but at the same time picking big B who is a known face all over India makes sense too. Who gives a rat's a$$ about big B's politics. It's not like they are trying to sell CPM's BS agenda thro big B. They are only hiring him to promote tourism. | ||

But there is a Marxian twist in the tale. The Communist Party of India [ Images ] (Marxist)'s politburo – the party's highest decision-making body – has asked the state government not to make Big B [ Images ] the brand ambassador since the Bollywood actor also endorses Gujarat -- a Bharatiya Janata Party-ruled state. Party's politburo member Sitaram Yechury [ Images ], speaking to media persons in New Delhi [ Images ] -- said the party central leadership would not allow the Kerala government to sign contract with Bachchan. Yechury clearly said that as Bachchan was the brand ambassador of BJP-ruled Gujarat, he cannot be made Kerala's brand ambassador. State tourism minister – a politburo member too -- Kodiyeri Balakrishnan, who was not available for comments -- is now in a soup as it was he who had taken personal interest to rope in Big B to promote tourism. The minister had even called up a press conference to announce that Bachchan was willing to become the brand ambassador and that the reigning mega star had called up the minister to confirm his willingness. |
