Nalini gets a Women's Day gift, her cop's cap TNN, Mar 8, 2010, 02.16am IST HYDERABAD: Reiterating its commitment to the all-round development of women, the state government on Sunday returned a woman deputy superintendent of police, D Nalini, her job to coincide with the International Women’s Day. Chief minister K Rosaiah is learnt to have cleared the request to withdraw resignation letter, dated December 18 last year, as she claimed that a job is necessary for her to raise her two children. Nalini had resigned from service in December 9, 2009 protesting the government’s insensitivity on the Telangana issue. The DSP in her resignation letter to the DGP said she was quitting as she could not work under an insensitive government that did not understand the heartbeat of 3.5 crore Telangana people. A member of the backward class, Nalini, was directly recruited to the Andhra Pradesh Police Service (APPS). Nalini, a Group A officer, passed out of the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy as a direct recruitee and joined her first posting in Hasanparthy police station in March last year. She was appointed Medak DSP in September 2009 after completing six months of probation at Hasanparthy and Hanamkonda police stations in Warangal. Prior to becoming a police official, she had worked as a hostel warden in the social welfare department at Parkala in Warangal in 2005-06. Nalini’s husband R Narender is a teacher in a government high school in Warangal. She hails from Bhongir in Nalgonda district and has a daughter and a son.Nalini, however, was not available for a comment. |
