fedora/redhat is the leader server side..but ubuntu is leader in desktop side, basically opensource people write programs passionately with little money being paid or donated, yet fedora gets much money than ubuntu projects as it is server side, n got commerical success as if some one says server the first thing comes in to u r mind Linux not windows (solaris and other s there another thing)...but ubuntu got popularity cos its desktop side many people talks about ubuntu..intrestingly Ubuntu founder markshuttleworth was a self funded space tourist.. యుగానికొక్కడు-సచిన్ | ||

fedora basic ga rpm based Ubuntu debian based....I used fedora long time back in 2004-05 i thnk, but i never liked it..it was bulk, and if i wanted to install a SW it has many dependancies etc..i switched to ubuntu and i never go back to any OS. infact you dont have to have linux knowledge to use ubuntu, it can be described as almost linux windows (user prespective) little knowledge is enough, ubuntu has great support, is the most used linux desktop now.boot speed is very fast, but in fedora its avg. response speed is better than fedora, ubuntu has support for many hardwaresso thhat it works out of box for wirelee/graphic etc..fedora mite hav improved recently... యుగానికొక్కడు-సచిన్ | ||
