'Muslim quota is more important than T-state' Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) has once again displayed its bitter opposition to the demand for separate Telangana state, though it thinks it is adopting a diplomatic stand. MIM president and Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday said for his party, securing four per cent reservations to Muslims in education and employment was more important than the Telangana state formation. “We have been trying to create awareness among the Muslim community towards fighting for reservations and bring pressure on the state government. We will hold a massive meeting in Hyderabad on March 13,” he said. However, Owaisi’s comment was not taken kindly by the Muslim representatives of the Congress, TDP and the TRS. They wondered whether Owaisi was considering himself as the sole representatives of Muslims and demanded that he should spell out his stand on Telangana demand. |
