Talk of Telangana exploitation a lie: Undavalli Staff Reporter Government statistics indicate no economic disparities in the region, says the Rajahmundry MP Urges people to convey their views to help Srikrishna panel submit a well-represented report âParliament records state people of Telangana were eager to be part of one Telugu Stateâ - Photo: R.V.S. Prasad MAKING A POINT: Rajahmundry MP Undavalli Arun Kumar at the âMeet the Pressâ programme in Anantapur on Saturday. Anantapur: Rajahmundry MP Undavalli Arun Kumar has called upon all sections of people including journalists and all stakeholders to convey their views to the Srikrishna Committee so that the committee can submit a well-represented and well-reflected report on the pros and cons of the demand for separate State or on retaining a united Andhra Pradesh. Addressing a âMeet the Pressâ programme organised by the Anantapur Press Club here on Saturday, Mr. Arun Kumar said that during the time of formation of linguistic States, Andhra Pradesh was formed with the integration of all Telugu speaking people of three regions namely -- Telangana, Rayalaseema and Coastal Andhra. Records in Parliament on the subject of which he had gone through suggested that the people of Telangana were eager to be part of the one Telugu State. He dismissed the allegations of the Telangana leaders that they were pressurised to be part of the present entity of AP State. He also described as âdeliberate liesâ that the people of Andhra and Rayalaseema had exploited Telangana region and did grave injustice to them. âGovernment statistics which are there for everyone to see have not indicated economic disparities at an alarming scale in Telangana region,â he maintained. Political vacuum Replying to a suggestion that a vacuum in political leadership prevailed after the death of Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy, Mr. Arun Kumar disagreed with the view stating that present Chief Minister K.Rosaiah carried with him rich administrative experience. âA vacuum did exist due to the death of a towering leader but Mr. Rosaiah faced several adverse situations like floods in different parts of the State, agitations and a period of economic recession which rocked the State.â The MP said the Chief Minister was delivering goods and was confident of completing all the projects launched by YSR. Jagan issue Responding to queries on making Y. S. Jaganmohan Reddy the Chief Minister, Mr. Arun Kumar said the high command would at an appropriate time use the services of Mr. Jaganmohan Reddy. |
