And think about the amount of debate in the media on health-care in a rich country like US with debate on similar issues in a poor country like ours.. system-wide corruption, inefficiency, lack of long-term planning lanti conditions automatically imply that if anyone (terrorists, maoists, etc) decides to do a bomb blast, they will most definitely be successful in doing that.. the same conditions which prevent india's development also prevent effective national security.. Before applying the standards of US response to terrorist attacks on its soil to our response, we can’t ignore the fact that for the people of US, the basic stuff are almost taken for granted and hence such attacks are the most pressing concerns! Jujung brother.. Terrorism kadu central point ikkada.. religion is the core of the debate here.I think we might not care or make such noise if that attack in pune was carried out by Non-muslims..the angst is not for those 8 ppl died but it is against people who say terrorists dont have religion.. What happened in pune was tragic and outrageous and my heart goes out to innocent people who lost thier lives and their families. | ||

jujung, it's not like people don't care, they do. But matters like a bomb blast have a bigger impact and anything national security and one that kills or hurts people have a bigger impact and jives more with people's psyche. These things make people jump and expect action from govt. Unfortunately a bad road or overflowing sewer are so common and don't get any action out of any govt personnel, that's why you don't read about it any blog. Honestly, we are at a point where everyone talks about it and moves on, no matter how big or small the issue is. Such an impasse when it comes to action. | ||
