in movies.... lets say you have nice love story or a revenge story or just a story that you want to make into a movie... then you know that most of stroies are all same ....now how do u want to make urs to appear fresh.... u would say "presentation"...non linear screen play...split camera technique n using visuals n colours never explored b4 (like dev d)....but again ur just relyin on the visuals....and u will be no different than any of the existing lot...cause everyone is a master of visuals these days...cause relyin on technology is the easiest thing to do... So what u do is...when u develop the characters u give them a unique touch...by givin them a condition(like srk wid oesophagus syndrome in mnik or a sean penn in my name is sam or tom hanks from forrest gump)...or like amitabh in paa... then wat else u can do is ...u keep ur characters as normal with no conditions but u give them professions thats not been explored b4 in cinema... like say , u always see characters playin docs,engineers,pulis,politicians,goondas,serial killers,sportsman etc etc etc... so u pick a profession thats not been touched b4... for eg....a chair umpire from tennis.... a hero ideally in a cliched manner would always be a tennis player like paul bettany from wimbledon... but when u make ur hero as a chair umpire ur capturing the audience interest rightaway....cause no one knows about a chair except seein them in matches.... they dont know what kind of life they lead...challenges they face...tests they have to pass...etc etc etc so the moment ur character is introduced to audience its holds their interest cause of the characters profession..so half job done rightaway..again even the most boring professions can be shown in an interestin manner if u have observed dirty jobs from discovery sannel... so pick a stroy....make ur characters unique by chosing their professions....re format it n narrate it...most probably u will have a winner.... |
