Adikesavulu’s butler English irritates Lata Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams trust board chairman D K Adikesavulu Naidu turned out to be sheer nuisance at the prestigious launching of CD of Annamacharya songs rendered by Bharata Ratna Lata Mangeshkar at Tirumala on Saturday. He took almost half an hour for his inaugural address, speaking in three languages – Telugu, broken Hindi and butler English. He simply murdered all the three languages and spoiled the mood of everybody, particularly that of Laga Mangeshkar, on the auspicious occasion. Not only that, when Governor ESL Narasimhan was uncovering the packet to release the CDs of Lata’s Annamayya songs, Adikesavulu virtually pulled the packet away from the hands of the Governor and Lata and distributed the CDs among the other VIPs. It was only after somebody reminded him that he gave a CD to Lata. What is worse, the TTD chairman was seen tapping on the shoulder of Lata, rather than politely calling her, to draw her attention towards him. Lata had to put up an embarrassing face. And in the end, too, Adikesavulu Naidu did not allow chief minister K Rosaiah to honour Lata with a shawl properly; he pulled the shawl over her shoulder. Now, one can understand why people dislike seeing Adikesavulu Naidu as TTD chairman. He has to learn how to behave in such august gatherings. But, how can one expect a liquor dealer to behave decently? |
