Good going Rasp. Congrats!! For games, this setup should rock. CD_SPDIF is audio-in from optical (CD) drives. Back in old days, when you pop-in new CD/DVD drive, you connect ATA, Power cable to MB and run a cable from CD drive's audio-out to sound card's CD_SPDIF. You had to use SPDIF_IO to get internal audio out of sound card. Again, you need to refer sound card's documentation for the pin config, which is useless most of the time. Yessssssssssss. Almost 6+ hours wasted on this. Finally realized CD_SPDIF is not teh same as SPDIF_IO. Creative vaadi website bogus. PIN layout isthey vaadi sommu yem pothundi. Yedo 3rd party forum lo PIN by PIN layout ichaaru. Even after finding the SPDIF_IO connector, it had 8 pins, Andulo 2 pins ki connect cheyyali antey deniki cheyyaalo kooda telidu. Internet rocksss...unfortunately it is mostly used for wrong purposes. NOw, I am going to try out how a few games are going to run on 46". An idea is like a Virus. | ||

Sound card lo almost certain that it is the SPDIF internal out. Kaani enduku work avvatledo artham kaavatledu. Sigh....just december lone $90 etti 9800 GT konnaa. Rasp, Now I understand what you are trying to acheive. You are feeding audio from sound card to video card (via spdif) and would like to get A/V via HDMI. In theory it should work. From your explanation, it is a desktop PC, right? You are fine with spdif-in header (internal) on the video card. You are trying to figure out the spdif-out part. See documention for motherboard for the port location. Usually, this is internal connection. That means, if the sound card has internal spdif-out (it is not the port exposed to outside), use that. If not, there is always a digital audio-out port on the motherboard that can be used. Remember, this port looks different fom the regular spdif port on tv/receiver. If you want a simple solution, take out the sound card, video card and replace with the ATI 5xxx series card. They have HDMI-out port with build-in sound card. In my HTPC, I used to run DVI-HDMI cable from PC to receiver (video) and a separate spdif cable from PC to receiver (audio). Later, I replaced both with ATI 5750 card and run just one HDMI cable. | ||

Simba, exactly that is what I am trying to do. Graphics card ki SPDIF IN is clearly marked and keyed also. So, adi correct gaaney undi. ee cable ki other end lo SPDIF and GND and mark chesi two pins unaayi. Deenni Sound card output ki connect cheyyaali. Sound card ki, open gaa unna conntectors.... CD_SPDIF (exactly two pins) SB 1394 (5 pins in first row, 4 pins i first row). SPDIF I/O ani mark chesina connectors emi levu. Fiurst CD_SPDIF unna pins ki connect chesaa, no use. Then tried every two pins in SB 1394 (some forums suggested trying the first two pins there). Correct gaa connevt ayithey, Audio Source options lo HDMI kanabaduthundi, change From SOund Card to HDMI output ani cheppaaru. Mav, different rooms lo unnaayi PC and TV. Oka HDMI cable 30ft laagudaamani plan. Ippudu Audio ki inko cable l;aagadam kante light teesukovachu. But, many ppl who build HTPCs have done this successfully. Connect SPDIF from SOund card to Graphics card, and output the sound and video both out via DVI-HDMI adapter and a HDMI Cable. An idea is like a Virus. | ||

What are you trying to do? Watch PC media on TV? You did right for the video part. The S/PDIF goes from PC's audio-out to TV. | ||

PC ki DVI out undi, DVI to HDMI adapter kooda undi. When I connect the PC to the TV, Video baagaane vasthondi, NO audio. So research chesthey, Sound card SPDIF Out ni Graphics card SPDIF IN ki connect cheyyamandi undi. Adi kooda connect chesaa since this cable came with the graphics card. Still NO AUDIO. Am I missing something here? An idea is like a Virus. |
