CF: i think we should be glad that fed is still out there competing. tennis is a young man's game and fed is a good 5+ yrs ahead of nadal and co. i think the competitive fire dies away exponentially with every passing year. i used to break racquets if i lost some tennis matches (even when i played with some good friends). that was in mid 20s. a couple of months from 29 and i was quite calm the other day, even when i was oh-so-close to losing to one of the nastiest woman i ever met. on top of that fed gets to go home to his teenage sweetheart and those cute twin babies. with life so sweet, i am sure it has eaten into his gladiatorial killer instincts, which are a must to dominate a cut-throat sport like tennis. he has lost that tiny bit of snap in his back when he serves, or the little extra elasticity in his wrists when he fires a forehand or in the bending of the knees to blast a backhand..... i think a quick talk with a shrink before he hits the courts can help him be a little more fired up..... lets hope he can hit the 20slam mark..... irrespective of what happens in toronto, fed needs a sports shrink. he should have closed this in 2. this has been his biggest problem since 2008. it started on clay against rafa and now it has come to berdych on hardcourts. fed at his peak is mentally stronger than anyone on the planet except rafa-boy. fed lost in a 3rd set tie-break in quarters last year in montreal. hope history doesn't repeat.
