Myfirstshow : Tell us about your Maryada Ramanna story? Did you write this story out of your interest or by force of any one? SS.Kanchi : Maryada Ramanna is completely a comedy entertainer on Rayalaseema back drop and we made the characterization as peculiar and interesting. Actually one day Rajmouli said that he wants to make a comedy film and he explained the point of the film then I had written a story regarding the theme. After that he listened to the entire story and he agreed to make it as a film. Myfirstshow : In future do you want to write the stories for other director or is it only for Rajamouli? SS.Kanchi : No, I will write for all the directors. If any director approached me for a story then definitely I will write for him. Myfirstshow : How many months it took to complete âMaryada Ramannaâ story? SS.Kanchi : Actually, I believe that a story is completed when the entire shooting of the film is done, because we are going to modify the story in the shooting time also. When I calculate like that it took me nearly one year, it was six months on story writing and six months on shooting. Maryada Ramanna is a different plot point on Rajamouli's career graph. How did you manage to convince him with the story? Actually, it is Nandi's idea and not mine. Even before Magadheera was completed, he felt that he needed to come out of the mould and thus announced that he'd make a small film with Sunil, which surprised everyone. He then called me and asked me to prepare a story to suit the idea, but was not sure what kind of story would be the right blend of the image that Rajamouli as well as Sunil have! Several discussions followed before Mullapudi Vara (writer Mullapudi Venkata Ramana's son and director of Naa Alludu and Vishaka Express) came up with the basic idea of the film that we all liked, and I then developed the story into a romantic comedy and action based entertainer taking that aesthetic yet a flimsy idea. |
