It so happened in Tirupati that Chiranjeevi reached the local showroom of the Panasonic, which he was supposed to inaugurate. Scheduled to arrive at 12.30 PM, he arrived half an hour late. The traffic on the busy Tirumala bypass road came to a grinding halt at Korlagunta area. Reaching the showroom venue, he got down the vehicle twice, but had to immediately get into the same, as a heavy crowd of women surrounded his vehicle. When he could finally alight from the vehicle, a robust woman dashed towards him in a frenzied mood, which resulted in a jostling. The other women too joined the frenzy and pushed away the bodyguards, who in turn fell on Chiranjeevi. As one of the gunmen fell on him, his elbow hit Chiranjeevi in the abdomen, making him shout in pain and chide him. In a few seconds, he withdrew his move to enter the showroom and left the venue in a huff, disappointing the crowds. As if it was not enough, Chiranjeevi had to incur the wrath of the women in his constituency. During his visit to some of the wards in the constituency at MR Palle area, Chiru were virtually mobbed by women folk. More than 2,000 people, including women with harathi plates, thronged the route. Though some women surged towards him with the harathi plates, he ignored them, prompting his bodyguards to wind up the visit. In the melee, the harathi plates fell down and the women shouted at the MLA and his men. âWhat for you are coming here? Just coming and going without any meaning. What do you think of yourself, an MLA or still an actor? Better donât come here. Stay in Hyderabad.â Without heeding to the plight of the women, Mr Chiranjeevi left the venue.  |
