KTR gets EC notice for TG sticker Telangana Rashtra Samithi candidate for Siricilla assembly by-elections K T Rama Rao, son of party president K Chandrasekhara Rao, received notice from the Election Commission on Friday for using Telangana sticker on his vehicles. These days, most of the Telangana leaders are using the letters âTGâ in place of âAPâ in their vehicle registration numbers, as symbolic representation that they belong to Telangana state, but not Andhra Pradesh. Though RTA authorities have been ignoring the same in view of the strong Telangana sentiment and sensitivity of the issue, the Election Commission has not taken it lightly because it is against the election rules to influence voters with Telangana slogan. Thus, the EC served a notice on KTR, who has been using the TG sticker for a quite long time. However, it has acted only on the complaint from Congress candidate K K Mahender Reddy, who till the other day was in the TRS, used to have TG sticker on his vehicles as he is also a staunch Telangana activist. Not only for the TG sticker, the TRS candidate also got a notice from the EC for supplying drinking water to certain colonies in Siricilla by engaging water tanks; and this also falls under poll code violence. bokkalo eyyali |
