Jp_rocks:is it prudent to go for desi employer provided health insurance or continue using an independent health insurance provider?
Depends. If you go with the employer, generally it will be a group insurance. If in the group, some one claimed huge medical claims, then group premium will go up. So, better to shop for both employer and our own insurance and then see which one is better. Suppose if you opt for your own, then make sure you deduct the premium you paid for the whole year from gross salary, which should be your taxable income. In this db, there's always someone watching you!! |

When you file your taxes next year, you would also have to file your health insurance tax...They made it mandatory.. |
