The regular disclaimer, i dont write reviews .. only some ramblings ... RGV kurrodiki .... naa lal salaam .. movie after movie, the amount of hype that he can generate for his next movie is amazing .... every time i come out of his movie, i tell myself .. i guess i have enough of him and he lost it in him to deliver the vintage stuff ... the next movie i find myself again in the theatre on first day, only to tell the same tale again ... Rann is not so much of a different movie .. there is nothing in it that it was projected in the media that it was against it ... that it shows the inside stories of media wars etc., nothing of that sort ... in fact, this movie could have been easily made as a sarkar genre movie (RGV is cunning enough that he might make one and many wont even recognize that, but would only think RGV copies himself at times), if he had made harshavardhan malik as sarkar instead of owner of one channel ... he just made sarkar as a media man rather than potraying sarkar with a media man on his side ... after a long long time, u see one RGV movie and feel some of the scenes are old, stale and copied from non-english movies ... some times u get a feeling that u r watching a tv serial ... this movie is ONLY ONLY meant for those RGV movie lovers and only a subset of them who can watch serious movie seriously ... media and drama around it looked so silly to me, the logic was not convincing enough ... so it took away some attention ... the movie starts with a pathetic slow pace and picks up momentum after a while and then only starts catching your attention .. initial few sequences including titles, make you really wonder what kind of movie is in store ... in contraty to what is projected in some reviews, the major characters dont look like very appealing and believable ... how could u have a tv channel, whose trps are dropping .. the channel could be in debts and on the verge of collapse .. but the owner of the channel has so much of crediblity among the majority of population that he can dictate the fortunes of the general election that there by the candidate for next PM .. the whole episode of the leaked video to deface the existing PM to get the channel's TRP rating and make paresh rawal as PM ... is unbelievable .. a politcal goonda ... lures a tv channel owner to air a home made video with the PM close confidante and a alleged terrorist ... and have his father add credibility to it by being the anchor for that video ... they would kidnap the PM close confidante and threaten him to get the video shot .. fine .. but who enacts the role of the alleged terrorist .. the friend from US of the channel owner, who is a America returned?? The PM wanna be, the political goon, did not find any better person?? utter non-sense ... |
