The Andhra Pradesh Government is taking all steps to reassure the industry in spite of the disturbances in the State over the Telangana issue and doing its best to see to it that the long-term development of the State is not affected, according to the Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah. He told reporters here on Sunday at the conclusion of his two-day visit to the district that after a small incident pertaining to the HSBC (NYSE:HBC) office in Visakhapatnam in the recent agitation the Government had immediately taken all necessary steps to provide protection and the HSBC management was also content with the measures. The IT companies in Hyderabad were also reassured with the follow-up measures taken by the Government, he claimed. The State Government was also taking the necessary initiative to instil confidence in the Telugu film industry in the wake of certain incidents in and around Hyderabad in the recent agitation, he said. The State was passing through a financial crisis in view of the floods and agitations during 2009 and the Government was focusing on fiscal management to overcome these constraints, he added. Work on SEZ In response to a question on the proposal to revive regional development councils, the Chief Minister said all such proposals could be considered only after the Union Government had taken a decision on the Telangana issue. âThe Telangana issue is in the domain of the Union Government,â he said. The Chief Minister said the Petroleum, Chemicals, and Petro-chemical Investment Region (PCPIR) coming up between Vizag and Kakinada would be taken up in right earnest and the work on special economic zones would also go on smoothly. Hyderabad: The Telangana Joint Action Committee (JAC) today held ''Sahajeevan Rally'' to build confidence among the people of Andhra Pradesh who made Hyderabad their home saying their interests will be fully safeguarded after the separate State was created. Addressing the participants, JAC Convenor M Kodanaram said, ''Hyderabad is the home for those who have come and settled from different parts of the country over a period of time. All can live together in peace as and when Telangana State is formed.'' Hyderabad had a cosmopolitan culture even before it was merged with Andhra. This would thrive even after creation of new Telangana State, he assured and urged the people residing in the capital to support the movement.
