Bheeshma was the greatest mythological character among all of them in Hiduism. All these ramas, krishnas, arjunas...are all next only to him. He represents the quintessential gist of the highest philosophical actuality of Vedantha. He is a true inspiration, a sage of unrivaled rectitude and mightiest warrior who equaled none other than his guru parashurama, an avatar of vishnu himself.
