Landa wont die ...they just carve a swastik on his forehead because if they didnt then landa is just going to disappear and start a new life as a war hero n there wont be any justice for all the crimes he committed....by carving this on his forehead the basterds keep the options open for landa to be prosecuted or atleast to be identified as a nazi if not now but in late future... in those days the the science of plastic surgey is not that advanced so that landa can cover his scar....like a poetic justice annattu | ||

colonel landa is a very smart guy....his hatred for jews is not as passionate as watchin out for himself.... In the end he figures out that germany is goin to fall and its just a matter of days for the allied forces to prevail....so he sees that oppurtunity in theatre as a means for his escape.....He knows that every most wanted guy is going to be destroyed in that inferno... So he devises a plan by which he can claim that it was through his help that the basterds were able to complete the mission....and he wants his name to appear as an undercover workin for nazi and all the crimes he did were also part of his duties to retain the faith of hitler....and if allied forces agreed to his demands then he wont raise an alarm and the theatre will be burned down...or else he would difuse those bombs n fail the operation... so allied kurrol agrees to his demands because its a too good an offer to refuse....whole war will be ended with a small operation... and landa survives anattu | ||
