Four films have hit the screen for this Sankranthi- Adurs, Om Shanti, Namo Venkatesa and Sambho Siva Sambho. Adurs starring Jr NTR was released amidst lot of uncertainties and tensions due to Telangana agitation. Initially the tension prevailed in Telangana region as the producers belong to coastal AP. When Jr NTR appeared in media and said that he was born and brought up in Hyderabad and he belongs to the place, the film has suffered tensions at a few coastal places like Nuzivudu. However, the movie released and stood as average runner. The hype resulted in big openings and huge sales of black tickets ever known in recent times. Click for Adurs Movie Review Om Shanti was released along with Adurs on the same day. The daughters of Ashwini Dutt have come up with their second venture after Baanam but the material marred the movie. The openings were a bit good and thanks to their first film Baanam hat has got critical acclaim. But this time, it has bitten mud. The 5 different stories failed to gel well with the hearts of audience and climax episode with sword et al didn’t work out. Madhavan’s surprise appearance also didn’t save the film. Click for Om Shanti Movie Review Namo Venkatesa faired a bit well in this season. The film got the family entertainer tag as it has got the blend of everything that is required for all age groups. Srinu Vaitla has run on his formula track but could have delivered better. Still, the film is ok in this season. It has attracted big openings and also got the material to sustain for some time in theaters. Click for Namo Venkatesha Movie Review Sambho Siva Sambho, the remake of Tamil film Nadodigal is a multi starrer in Telugu with Ravi Teja, Allari Naresh and Siva Balaji. The film failed to grip the audiences and it turned down many. While the Tamil version was super success, Telugu couldn’t get the critical acclaim as well.
