You are talking about platonic love which is very impractical in this case. In real world, no girl is going to love you if you can't assure her that you can protect her, whether it is financially or physically. Its good and all to think that God ascribes privileges and all, but in real world love leading to marriage requires additional things than just love. Instead of charity, if he has reacted violently, I wonder how many of you would term this as pure love. Just because he is doing is commendable work, doesn't make his behavior healthy. I wasn't even moved a little bit by what he wrote. He is concealing his unhealthy attachment by being nice. He comes across as a very insecure and selfish person who wants the whole world to know how much his love meant to him but not to the other person. Who knows? Were they ever "in love"?
