here's what I did no more printing anything unless I really have to ride bike almost everywhere that is within 5 miles no more platic bottles, plastic dabbas - i didn't throw away what I have b'coz that defeats the purpose of unnecessary consumption, but I don't buy anymore plastic anything. no more plastic bags at grocery store, at the mall - i carry my own bag use energy saver bulbs recycle a lot more and reuse wherever I can I don't know if these will help with global warming per se, but I feel every small step helps towards giving a better environment for the future generation. | ||

Vja, I have no clue brother......my only concern is the people employing scare tactics to sell their agenda and achieve their own goals......greed marketing oka type...it will numb the people to become consumers.....and we see 30+ guys wanting better cars, buying costly shoes and whatever....just like the kids loving their toys and wanting for more.......adoka type lokam... scare marketing is euqally dangerous if not more......it makes people live in a constantly threatening environment and kills the spirit of life......bush kurrod patriot act techchaadu...Iraq meeda war...now naked body screening.....scaring people about everything and anything to give up their freedom and ability to lead a less worried life......they dont even revela the truth behind it.......it is like in the movie "you just can't handle the truth"..........just like brahmins saapaalu petti bhayapettinattu ee scare tactics koodaa........ Its presumptuous of humans to think that we can affect a biome of such huge proportions. Simple logic. 71% of earth is water and 29% of Earth is land mass. Of that 29% humans occupy less than 1%. Of that industrial areas occupy much less portion. mostly i have avoided using plastic bags since last 10 years and also i never waste water when having a shave or brushing teeth...whether global warming is a fact or not is a diff matter but excess use of disposable plastic items has caused a heavy burden on the landfills and is causing a lot of problems in developing countries...there isn't any river or lake in india which has not been polluted by these plastic crap which leads to clogging of drains , overflowing into residential areas...try using recyclable goods including platics which help in reducing the strain on the environment feel like i should have done more in this country but got sucked into the american dream of excess and wasting everything | ||

guys, please understand I have no issues with living simple and not wasting things...that is how I live....pretty much avoiding unwanted stuff.....but then man made global warming is the scam..... not denying pollution and stuff....it is eventual as the world's population exploded and re-usability/bio-degradable stuff greatly helps......the problem is voting for "cap and trade", "carbon tax" and other financial instruments being implemented as law, for the benefit of few......now that housing bubble crashed, its only logical that a new toy/bubble is created for the general public to put their life's work/savings on the line....... | ||

no denying pollution part of it......efforts to reduce it is good.....but man made global warming is quiet a scam they pulled off......that is pure baloney...... lately the whole world is on a cold chill.....sometimes nature has its own ways to deal with atrocious things.......these global warming proponents were proposing global cooling a couple of decades ago...... as the temperatures were rising and couldn't put a good mask on it, they changed the stance now to global warming....ironically it started cooling from the earlier part of this decade....... from what I read, these temperature cycles are normal through out the history.......and there are hawks out there minting on the gullible....Al gore who was only a couple of millions at the end of Bill Clinton's regime, is now his worth nearly a billion....he pulled a fast one...you gotta appreciate that though..... for others interested, research a little more and you will know better......sad to see these PhDs and other scientists funded by this AGW crew play dirty......without any regard to science........just like the economists/rating agencies funded by the wall street doing thier job....and medical researchers funded by pharmaceutical companies.....everyone doing god's work..... do our own research....and I can be totally wrong..... | ||

I started using a mug of water for brushing my teeth, instead of running down water from the tap in the wash basin .. last 13 days .. successful ga .. 13 gallons of water save chesa .. have to cut down on shower time as well !!! Kitchen lo .. paper towels vaadakunda .. I use more of cloth and wash and dry them out .. ekkada electricity waste unna .. power immediate ga off chesta .. !!! US lo naaku idi kudaradu kaani .. India lo matram .. I walk .. if the distances are 1 km or 2 kms .. and mostly cycle prefer chesta .. India lo cycle is awesome !
