As expected, the Telangana activists stalled screening of âAdhursâ starring Junior NTR on the first day on Wednesday disrupted, following a call given by Telangana Jagruthi president Kalwakuntla Kavitha, daughter of TRS president K Chandrasekhara Rao. In many places, the TRS activists prevented the film from screening, while in hardcore Telangana areas, the theatres did not screen the movie at all as a solidarity to the Telangana state demand. Several TRS workers were arrested in Nizamabad, Nalgonda, Karimnagar, Medak, Adilabad, Warangal and Mahabubnagar districts. The activitsts raised slogans of âJai Telanganaâ and attacked theatres and set afire posters and cut-outs. However, in Hyderabad and several other places, the screening was done with police protection. In Warangal, enthusiastic Jr NTR fans clashed with TRS workers when the latter stalled the film. They said they were for separate Telangana, but watching their favourite heroâs film was also important for them. |
