Der_schuler very pleased with your thoughts
Me and my friend want to pool some money....through private equity to invest in Malls, starbucks franchise, Borders franchise(idhi iffy).....across developing metros like

DARREN to Der_schuler
starbucks : already coffee day & barista lavazza (italian coffee chain) have outlets through out india. Some of the outlets are closed recently due to non customers. End of the day they are scratching their bolls

Note : to the best of my knowledge starbucks did not come to india due to some restrictions. Anyway go head & find out. However u could only open starbucks in major cities @ prominent locations. example : rd no 1 banjara hills or rd no 36 in jubliee hills

Borders : already ODDESSY . LANDMARK. CROSSWORD & WALDEN are popular in Hyderabad. All these bookstores have globalized look & appeal.

ODDESSY in rd no 36 is huge book store in India. Also LANDMARK opp pullareddy bldg is quite huge with huge collection of books & audio . Both are probably biggest in India & Hyderabad.
