Hyderabad, Dec. 11: The Chief Minister, Mr K. Rosaiah, has clarified that the Telangana resolution would not be tabled in the present Assembly session. âSo far I have not received any official communication from the Union home minister, Mr P. Chidambaram, over the resolution,â he said in a statement on Friday night. âIf it comes, then I have to speak to leaders of all political parties in the House and then introduce it. The present Assembly session is too short and there is no possibility of introducing the resolution in this session.â Meanwhile, the number of protest resignations by MLAs swelled to 130 by Friday evening. Out of 106 Congress MLAs from coastal and Rayalaseema region, 76 have put in their papers. Similarly, 40 of the 53 Telugu Desam MLAs have resigned and 14 of the 16 Praja Rajyam MLAs have quit. Earlier, while addressing the Assembly, Mr Rosaiah said he had warned the Union home minister, about the repercussions of announcing a decision in favour of separate Telangana. He also hinted that he had favoured a united state during his meeting with the core committee members in Delhi. âThey (core committee) heard me and also those who wanted separation,â he said. Mr Rosaiah said the Centre had asked him to move a resolution on Telangana but added that he wanted the Union home minister to ponder where it might lead to. There had been widespread resentment in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions and students have been organising demonstrations in all the universities and the situation was serious, he pointed out. While talking to mediapersons after the House was adjourned, Mr Rosaiah said that the home ministerâs announcement on Telangana had triggered similar demands from different states in the country. âUnfortunately we have become torch-bearers of such agitations elsewhere in the country,â he added. âWhy do you force me to fix dates for everything? You leave it to me, we will decide at an appropriate time,â said the Chief Minister, reacting to a query on when the resolution will be placed before the Assembly. Before the adjournment, the Chief Minister also hinted that the winter session might be called off in the wake of the resignations of MLAs and continuous disruption of proceedings. âPlease think whether we can run the House in such a tense situation,â the Chief Minister said after the MLAs of various parties who quit rushed to the well and raised slogans in support of united Andhra Pradesh. The Speaker, Mr N. Kirankumar Reddy, adjourned the House till Monday when members continued their protest. http://www.deccanchronicle.com/hyderabad/no-t-resolution-ses sion-772 Go Patriots Go
