The tiny village of Natta Rameswaram, in Penumantra mandal of West Godavari district, is in the news nowadays, with a family there engaged in the making of "Telangana Talli" statues, among others. On learning that one Kesava Rao Vadayar and his son, Arun Prasad, were involved in this pursuit, some members of Pratyekandhra went to the village and asked them to stop making the Talli statues. When contacted over phone, Arun Prasad said that for years the family's business had cut across party lines. So far, 200 statues of Telangana Talli, each costing Rs 30,000, had been made on orders placed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhar Rao. However, no more Telangana Talli statues would be made in compliance with the Pratyekandhra request, Arun Prasad said. Jai NTR, Jai Jai TDP |
