If don't replace the set-top box (you need only 2 hdmi cables), use component-video and optical audio (same cables linked for DVD player). For laptop see the link for 3.5mm/RCA audio cable. Connect the 3.5mm jack to laptop line-out and other end to receiver. For speaker wire, check the gauge number on supplied one. If it is 18AWG or under use it. If it is above 18 then it is cheap speaker cable and feel free to discard it. |

Simba:ssuming you are going to replace comcast receiver with HDMI capable one, you need at least 3 HDMI cables.
thanks for responding. in the event i dont change this..i can use the component cables and input them to receiver and then use hdmi out to tv..in that case i need only 2 hdmi cables..is that ok? laptop i already hooked using vga to tv..i guess i cannot hook it to receiver..slot ledu..but audio from laptop can i give to the receiver? if yes where? also should i discard the wire they supply and use the oxugen free wire? 10k post : why do u want to do pmp? |

Receiver and speakers baagunnayi. Looks like good bang for buck. Assuming you are going to replace comcast receiver with HDMI capable one, you need at least 3 HDMI cables. (PS3->Receiver, Comcast Box->Receiver, Receiver->LCD TV) 3 x HDMI For DVD player: If it has component-out video, run video to receiver via component and use optical for audio. 1 x Component Video 1 x Optical audio For laptop: Mostly it has VGA-out for video and line-out for audio. If your TV has VGA-in, run a VGA cable. For audio, run a 3.5mm stereo cable to receiver. 1 x VGA cable 1 x Audio cable For speakers and subwoofer: Speaker Wire and Subwoofer cable Anni cables 6ft length vi icchanu. You can change to different length cables if required. Good luck with the setup. |
