Noted Vanvasi saint Swami Sangram said the cow does not discriminate against anyone and gives milk and other things to all irrespective of their caste, creed, religion, etc., then why this cruelty against her. The Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra is in Andhra Pradesh for the last two days and is getting highly overwhelming response. It began from Vijayawada today morning and passing through Jaggyampet, Khammam and Turur it reached Vardhmanpet in the evening. When it entered the city a large number of women were seen waiting for it carrying lightened deepaks.

Besides the women a large number of local male people also turned to welcome it. The women welcomed it with deeppuja the males accorded traditional welcome by beating the drums and performing shahanai vadan. They welcomed it at many places of the city before it reached the venue of public meeting.

Prior to it, the Yatra received grand welcome in Maripeda. Thousands of people thronged the road to have darshan of the gourath and also to perform puja. They included school children also. Though public meeting at this place was not fixed earlier, people were administered oath of cow protection by formally organising a function.

Besides the saints, national secretary of the Yatra Shri Shankarlal, convener of the Yatra Shri KEN Raghvan and many other leaders of the Yatra Samiti were present at the meeting. After staying at night in Warangal, the Yatra will proceed to Hyderabad tomorrow.

He was addressing a huge gathering of gobhakatas at the welcome meeting of Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra held at PWD Ground in Vijaywada today. Dr Togadia appealed to the Hindus to be ready to sacrifice more lives for the cow protection.

Stating that there has been no incident of cow slaughter in Hindu history, Dr Togadia said every Hindu would have to resolve for cow protection. About 50 years back there were so many people who never fell sick or even saw the face of any hospital. It proves that people were healthy and fit in those days. But today everyone appears sick and visits the hospital even the day he/she is born.

Is it called development, he asked? He said the prime reason of growing diseases in the country is our shifting away from cow-based life and the situation will not improve till we return to that life again. He also said if the country has to get rid of disease, malnutrition and other economic problems it would have to turn to the cow protection.

Beginning from Rajahmundry the Vishwa Mangal Gou Gram Yatra today reached Vijaywada passing through Valupelam, Tunuku, Vunguturu and Hanuman Junction. It was accorded warm welcome in Vijayawada. The welcome meeting was addressed by many senior saints.

Earlier, a function was organised at goshala of Vunguturu in which more than ten thousand people participated. Prior to it, a yajna was organised at the venue. The women participating in the function performed goupujan and also fed the cows.

The scene in Vijayawada was totally different to the party politics seen in New Delhi. Many MLAs belonging to various political parties including TDP, Congress and BJP, were present at the dais, not as representative of their political parties but as gobhaktas. They all extended their support to the campaign for cow protection.
