Speaking with reporters here Wednesday, PRP chief K Chiranjeevi said his party was strong and it was the Congress which became weak. He, however, evaded a direct reply on the question whether there was any proposal on PRP-Congress merger. Chiranjeevi exuded confidence that the PRP would win a majority of divisions it was contesting in the Hyderababad municipal elections. The PRP initially thought of fielding its candidates in 40 divisions but increased the number to 50.
