Recent gaa back to back 2 times choosina first movie...Conversations are too good... Quoting cheryl's review here... '...This film is not for everyone. It is more similar to a play than a movie and most of the action takes place in one room, the bungalow of the Auschwitz Concentration Camp, where a group of war prisoners decide to put God on trial. The arguments for and against God are fascinating to listen to and think about. If you know something about Moses and the history of the Jewish Covenant people you will enjoy this more. The accusation by one side of the group is that God broke the Covenant with Israel and is guilty for what happened to the Jews during the Holocaust. The people on the other side of the argument who defend God’s position point out that God cares more about the nation as a group and the holiness of his people which he uses to guide his people and bring about change. They also point out each of them have free will and have not always lived up to their part of the covenant which has resulted in suffering. There is great discussion and great points made on both sides. If you know anything about the Pentateuch you know that Israel has blamed God for their suffering before which usually brought Moses and Aaron face down before God in humble submission and prayer. That is exactly the reaction some of these humble Jews portray as they feel questioning God is blasphemy...' |
