I think this is true. bro, telugu first language(2 papers) in some schools and second lanuage(one paper, hindi 2 papers) in some schools... telugu second language in my school...but regular gaa fail awuthunna walla kee and late joining non locals kee they had an option to select spl english as second language...I dont think this will change | ||

Good decision by government.. Oct. 29: The state government on Thursday instructed all English Medium schools to make their students sing AP’s official song, Maa Telugu Talliki Mallepudanda during morning Assembly every day. The minister for secondary education, Mr D. Manikya Vara Prasada Rao, directed district education officers to ensure that schools followed the orders. As of now, Telugu medium students in government schools sing this song while English medium schools opt for Vande Mataram and Janaganamana. The minister issued the orders all of a sudden during a meeting when some officials referred to the recent incident of an English medium school in Kadapa district punishing students for speaking in Telugu. “We will not tolerate such incidents,” said Mr Prasada Rao. “Telugu is the official language of AP. It has been accorded the classical language status. We will not allow anyone to degrade it.” However, the DEOs told the minister that it will be difficult to monitor its implementation because of lack of adequate staff. There are more than 25,000 private schools and the department is struggling to handle its 70,000 schools. Several English Medium schools in the city termed the decision as “hasty” though they agreed to take it positively. “We will take the suggestion positively but there are some limitations for an international school,” said Mr Nageshwar Rao of Sri Nidhi International School. “We have mostly non-Telugu speaking students.
