Wrathchild and Risingstar thank you so much. Risingstar is it true that 90% of the companies don't consider the resume if I don't have US experience? Then how do H1B visa holders get jobs there? Wrathchild, I am planning to apply for an E3 visa. |

Rbreddy:go there to search for a job. Would I be able to find a job in 5 weeks?
You need SSN number to work in USA, it will take 2-5 weeks to get SSN number depends on the state and city. For permanent jobs most of the time they will background checking since you are new to this country i don't know how it works. without having USA experience on the resume 90% employers will not consider your resume. you have to have the luck to get the job in the remaining 10%. Try to apply jobs in indian companies in USA, they will manage most of the things. |

Newguy123 and bmw007, thank you so much for your advise. I need to go to the US due to family reasons. Otherwise I wouldn't leave my current job. I am planning to take 5 weeks anneal leave in Feb 2010 and go there to search for a job. Would I be able to find a job in 5 weeks? |

Rbreddy:I know there are a lot of guys in the DB are on H1 visa. I live in Melbourne and I am planning to apply for an E3 visa in Jan/Feb 2010. How is the job market in the US? I am planning to go the US in Feb 2010. Is that good time to go and search for jobs? I am working as a Unix System Administrator. I have a friend in San Francisco. Could someone from California advise me on the job situation there. Is http://www.dice.com/ the best place to start looking for jobs? Any help would be really appreciated. Thanks. Rajesh.
If you already have a job in Australia i would advise on staying back few more months...The UNIX job market is always good in Bay Area( SFO) and once you come here i am sure you will find one in couple of months...so plan coming in May /June..my 2 cents Go Patriots Go Banned List: http://spreadsheets.google.com/ccc?key=0Ajjd-lrNlmgFdGkzMHkz Q2dSQ3llcWdmajdWY1EyNVE&hl=en |
