anna 70% is pretty good .. but two more things here which i forgot to mention .. Miru cheppinattu if u are trying in a field called Journalism .. the thing is that .. u have very less number of schools that offer these kind of courses .. Now the advantage is that almost none of the Indian/Chinese population do these courses.. so 80 % of the student number is out of the way .. Also .. Journalism kabatti ... 70 % is a very good academic score ... TOEFL miru easy gaa 100+ kottachu .. GRE ... Sure gaa 1200 + kottachu .. So ivvanni chusukonte ..all u need to do is .. find out a college which suits ur needs (Financially , access parangaa etc )also reputation .. choose the best from the lot .. i think u can easily make it in to one of those colleges for sure | ||

(some univ's allow students to do this if they dont get good score in toefl) | ||

If u have very good % in ur BTECH .. that will cover the less scores in GRE .... TOEFL is very easy annai ... with all the exposure u had in US .. it would be a cakewalk ... GRE yes koddiga kastapadaali kaani .. Look at it in a +ve way .. 1600 score lo 800 is maths .. u can easily score 650 without zero preparation and add one more 100 -130 with preparation ... now if u can score atleast 450 in english .. u will have a score of 1250 + ... which is an Above average score ... so GRE lo koddiga % poyinaa .. ni academics + SOP + TOEFL can cover that Community colleges lo most of them(more than 90 %) ...dont need GRE/TOEFL .. remaining % just need TOEFL ... It is very rare for a community college to ask both .. i have not seen any of them | ||

why? any specific reasons?// idi naa opinion maatrame, Villanova doesnt fall into a premium league as of stanford, mit etc. if i'm right this is a tier 2 univ and the admission criteria for this school is not as difficult as mentioned above. secondly, if i were you, i would first choose the program i'd be interested, then contact the admissions office, program coordinator (proff) on how to get admitted. they'll give you all the info you need for this. with this you'll have an idea of their requirements and then you can start with your paper work. this is how mostly international students apply too..in your case with your experience so far & the bachelors degree you have should be a sufficent criteria. let me know if you need anything else | ||

Going for better education is always a great idea. You can take one or two classes in communications in ur local community college to start with and go from there. Going to a good communications program does help but if u have a good writing portfolio I think anyone would hire you. Start blogging, get exposure to your blog, improve your writing skills, go to a good school and get internship at a good news paper or news channel and go from there. Good luck. | ||

Rising - community colleges are only to learn certain courses & gain expertise in them. This is far different from obtaining an MS from a decent school. so you cant compare both these schools first of all. coming to your masters degree, you may want to check the universities around where you live if they offer any course work that might interest you. then you have to check if they offer evening classes that might not affect your work schedule. it is easier to obtain an admission for a partime rather a full time student. | ||

Rising It depends on lot of things. 1. What is the objective of doing MS/MBA? 2. How does it align with your current job? 3. Doing MS/MBA in small univ will be helpdul after spenidng lot of money and time and effort? 4. If you are already in a comfortable job with rich experience, then are you aspiringg to go up the ladder like managerial position? But I agree with Ravino to some extent, not in entirety.
