may be the govt hasn't exempted these electronics items like KINDLE from import tax...AFAIK during budget times the govt release a list of items whose import duty has been raised or reduced etc etc my beef is with buying a international kindle in US and not being able to use in india... does Amazon sell a diff version for each country?what if there is a frequent traveler to diff countries what does he do to buy a book say ins singapore and then in malaysia? | ||

Holding kindle in my hand and drinking coffee is not the same somehow ;-) Not everyone has the time to read paper in the morning, evening whatever and not everyone is into hard copy of books, for them kindle is cool. I however like to buy and keep books. Amazon cannot delete my stuff at their will. Personally nothing beats holding a paper in my hand. I will probably be the last people to buy a kindle. I will be buying news papers, books in print for a long time. There is a certain nostalgia associated with books - the smell of old paper, the faded sepia color it gets as it turns old .... | ||
