Der, In fact we made signficant progress in producing power from Thorium. We already have reactors running on this. But to start power generation on Thorium we still need a little bit of Uranium. That is the only thing that would have prompted us for signing the deal. We will need that uranium supply for another 10 years before we just become self sufficient. I read extensively about Thorium power and I know we need some Uranium for some time. BTW, india has the largest resources of Thorium. So hopefully it will all for good | ||

He is very well informed and I actually take most of his statements prima facie as facts. ee DB lo Raju gaaaru, Guru ji current political affairs lo manchi nerpu unnavallu....they always take a consistent stance.....unlike most others... Nuclear power plant.....pettataniki taniki kosam vachina NNPL.....pulivendala edanna huge water resource deggarlo undha where population is sparse..... on the contrary, the project if it goes ahead will endager radiational exposure of drinking water carried from nagarjuna sagar reservoir.... infact, UCIL, has stated that the total capacity for uranium power generation in India is only 20,000MW.....infact the UPA govt while rushing for a nuclear agreement with USA cited the same reason for going ahead with the deal.... if that were true, why are they ready to invest 1300 crs for a plant in PULIVENDULA??????????????????????????????????? per the energy estimates of India, India has a solar power generation capacity of 40,000MW...DOUBLE that of uranium power.... and almost 10000MW for wind energy.....both the renewable sources will amount to 4-5 rs per unit generated as opposed to 1000Rs/unit that uranium generation will cost us....
