ismail merchant cinema........follows the life of butler serving a royal kurrod in 1930s by the english country side.....while subtly touchin the socio economic sitiutations prevailing in those days and also the second world war the movie primarily focusses on the aspect of profession of butler....wat it takes to be a good one....how important is the aspect of Dignity for a bulter....and to retain that dignity how one becomes emotionally handicapped and ends up alone..... most of the butlers wont marry in those days as the family responsibilities wont allow them to devote 100% to their master.... Anthony hopkins as the butler and emma thompson as his luv interest.....bomma suferrrrrrrrrr........ismail merchant fans should have this in their collections....}} |
