Tamil actress Bhuvaneswari and four men were arrested by the Chennai police for their involvement in prostitution. Accoring to sources, she was allegedly running this racket from her appartment at Adayar in Chennai. Sources also said that she was reported to the police by her neighbours after they suspected her of indulging in prostitution. Buvaneswari is a popular Tamil actress, who has acted in a number of films and serials, making her mark with her bold, glamourous roles. She was earlier arrested by Chennai police few years ago but was released later. Bhuvaneswari alleged that she was arrested while she was with her friends and that she did not run any brothels. Anti-vice squad of the Chennai Police on Friday made a high-profile catch when it arrested actress Bhuvaneswari for allegedly running a brothel. According to sources, the police first sent a decoy to Bhuvaneswari’s house in Adyar acting on a tip-off that she was running flesh trade. After receiving money from him, she took him to a room where two Mumbai-based models were confined, it is said. The decoy alerted the police and they barged into the house and arrested the actress. The girls were sent to the government home in Mylapore after they were produced before a Magistrate’s court. Bhuvaneshwari, who has acted in several Telugu and Tamil films and television serials, was arrested in 2002 on similar charges but was later acquitted. She was booked for running a brothel under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Prohibition of Immoral Trafficking Act of Tamil Nadu, a police officer reportedly said. . |
