The State government on Sunday evening suspended Dr K V Brahmananda Reddy, managing director of AP Aviation Academy from his post. Reason: Brahmananda Reddy did not respond to a directive from the Chief Minister’s office to arrange the state government helicopter for the aerial survey of Chief Minister K Rosaiah to the flood affected areas of Mahbubnagar, Kurnool and Krishna districts. Despite giving the prior schedule, Brahma did not arrange the helicopter in time. The Chief Minister took the issue seriously and asked Chief Secretary P Ramakantha Reddy to look into the matter. The result is the suspension of the official. Brahmananda Reddy was picked up by Y S Rajasekhara Reddy and promoted to the Airports and Ports department. He was the one who masterminded the construction of Krishnapatnam, Gangavaram, Vadarevu, Nizampatnam ports; besides the prestigious Hyderabad International Airport. In the second stint, YSR sent him to the Aviation Academy. However, he incurred the wrath of the government for sending the outdated Bell-430 helicopter for YSR, which led to its crash and was also responsible for not alerting the CMO about bad weather conditions. But the suspension was awarded for neglecting Rosaiah, but not for his irresponsible behaviour in the YSR helicopter crash! Source: GreatAndhra |
