Kamal family is shown as below middle class family but her mother worked hard to fulfill Kamal's passion. Through Sakshi Rangarao's character, Kamal is made to realize about how he is just running after his dream to become dancer. Aa chinna bit lo whatever money his mother gives him he returns it (just about when train is leaving the platform). Oka stage performance ivvadaaniki pedda perunna acharyulu daggiranna shishyarikam chesundaali or through some money power avi rendu athani daggira levu... akkada Jayapradha character dwara athaniki oka chance vasthundi... but aa performance time ki mother pothaaru so he has to sacrifice his performance. Antha ayyi vacchesariki akkada Jayapradha kooda marriage vishayam settle ayyi velipoddi. Only source that could have helped him is gone for ever. Thana lo talent undi but emi cheyaleni oka nisahayathi valana vacchina frustration lo he gets addicted to liquor. Thagudu ki alavatu padi dances kuda vodilesthadu. IMO when the lead character loses his mother (she already saw his performance in one of the marriages) then to fulfill her dreams he should go to competetion and win it rather than becoming drunkard. Had he failed at competetion because of the incidents and becomes drunkard may be it would have convinced me. This is my interpretation - Kamal wants to dedicate his life to dance. He gets an opportunity, and encouragement thru Jayaprada. Because of unfortunate incidents he loses both the opportunity, and Jaya. His life gets consumed by his addiction to alcohol. Through Jayaprada only he gets back into the right track at the end. It is also shown that he gets the applause he craved for at the end. I understood that he made Sailaja the carrier of his passion. | ||

What amazed me about this movie is Ilaya Raja gari music. He is a harijan. Never got proper classical music lessons. Entha dbhutam ga ichadu music ni? Really outstanding. BGM ayithe terrific. Dialogues kooda chala bavuntai. Eee rojullo hero and heroine entha class ga vunna, parama daridrapu telugu language tho virakthi vasthondi. if one goes by story, action then this is a very good movie. But for some reason personally I did NOT like this "loser" movie. i don't see why the hero did NOT participate in the competition. It's been long i saw this movie (except for few songs/scenes on youtube). hero's mother dies, then his lover is reunited with her hubby. now hero goes into depression, becomes drunkard and a Loser. I don't know if I can interpret the movie in a better way. sagarasangamam is too cool speacality entante u will see it till end though u see everyday, human emotions ni perfect ga terakincharu kalatapsvi garu, everybody can relate atleast some part of the move to there life, dantlo dance was a base it may be sport or any oppurtunity somebody has missed in there life due to death of there beloved may be grandparents instead of parent shown in the movie.....and the love between jaya and kamal lantidhi everyone has crush in there college days...and the sacrifice too ... each part each screen of the movie is/was a scale to mesure up to standard of a movie..unfortunate is it was not pushed to oscars as in those days we didn't had lot of lobbing...swarnakamalam kuda adhe kova ki chendhina good movie... kalatapsvi is real apporiate birudhu to viswanath the great Rajeevuni jeevitam deshaniki ankitam.
