Here's a theory I heard today: CM Y. Samuel Rajasekhar Reddy met a tragic end earlier this week because he insulted Lord Venkateshwara repeatedly. Is it just a coincidence that he was on his way to Tirupati when he crashed in the Nallamalla Hills (which merges with the Tirumala Hills at its southern end)? Here are some of the allegations against YSR: 1. The illegal and highly provocative destruction of the 550-year old Thousand Pillar Temple (March 2006) . 2. Attempted in 2006 to restrict (? successfully) the area of Tirumala to only 27.5 sq.km & drastically reduce the influence of the Devastanam. Reducing the Lord Venkateswara's seven hills (encompassing approximately 250 sq.km) to two hills was an affront to religious sentiments of Hindus & their God himself. And, it was also meant to make the legal foundation for construction of a church on the Tirumala Hills. 3. Appointed Karunakara Reddy, his relative and an evangelical Christian also, as the head of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board. During his tenure, mysteriously, the decorative arces erected for the Brahmostavam were eerily similar to Christian crosses - which were eventually torn down by the BJP workers. A Christian Organization (JRG Wealth Management) was given the Prasadam contract at Tirumala. 4. Changed the name of "Hindu Religious Endowment Act" to "Religious Endowment" and diverted TTD funds to govt coffers to promote their non-Hindu agenda. 5. Sold more than 12000 acres of temple endowment lands across the state, which will mean a slow death to the dependent devasthanams. Any comments? |
