Thnx mama. I'll try to find this book in a local library. Shud be an awesome read! One more question - do you think vegetarian people are more compassionate (not only towards animals) in general than people who consume meat? Or do you think it is merely a choice a person makes? As you quoted Einstein ... saying that it can change the destiny of mankind ... I think u do believe that human race itself will be more ...mmm 'humane' when every1 are vegetarians. Also are vegans more compassionate than vegetarians? Hmmmm what are your thoughts on this --- if a vegan craves meat (letz say at a grandeur buffet) and does not have it though ... wud that person be less compassionate than the vegan who does not crave it at all --- just coz the crave crossed their mind? read chapter 6(old paper back): Einstein: his life and universe... paragraph 3: "ever since eisntein was a kid, he had a special apathy towards meat. Being a staunch jew, his mother never fed him meat on days mentioned by the jehovah...as einstein entered Hogunschule in zurich, he and his friends turned vegetarian..for a very long time until his second marriage with hermann's daughter......einstein was diagnosed with a form palsy...and he consumed meat from probably his late 40's to early 50's and after he came to IAS, he along with eisenstein started the vegetarian group at princeton" I will buy one copy for each of you of this book....if that is OK | ||

The latest indications we have suggest that Einstein was vegetarian only for the last year or so of his life, though he appears to have supported the idea for many years before practising it himself. "So I am living without fats, without meat, without fish, but am feeling quite well this way. It always seems to me that man was not born to be a carnivore." This was from a letter written to Hans Muehsam, and dated March 30, 1954, which was about 1 year before Einstein died. This indicates he adopted a vegetarian diet at the end of his life. Doubt --- is it true that Einstein was a vegetarian only for a last year or so of his life?
