The Chief Minister directed the Disaster Management department to release Rs.45.5 crore to various departments for taking up contingency measures as 80 per cent of mandals received either deficit or scanty rainfall till July 31. Rs.35 crore would be released to supply seeds to farmers for raising alternative crops with 50 per cent subsidy, while horticulture department would get Rs.5 crore to provide seeds for short duration vegetable crops on 75 per cent subsidy.
