This is true of US too - It is a foot in the door when it comes to resume selection for PM opportunities. It definitely helps to have the credentials in a job interview. I feel oka sari nuvvu edanna certification cheste mati mati ki ni talent ni proove chesukovalisina vasaram undadu. US lo undademo kani india lo PMP ki value unnadi. Role wise and pay wise. PMP unte PM roles ki consider chestaru irrespective of your track record. | ||

I did not renew my PMP last month. Never felt it added anything to my career. As some one already said, you get some claps and then nothing else.. This is my experience in my company. I don't want to discourage you. Please do that. It may help you. If you are in US, I recommend you to take in-person coaching from reputed training institutes. PMP exam expects you to think the way they would like a project manger thinks. These trainings helps you to orient in that direction. If you spend good time, you can clear that with 3 weeks of efforts. All the best! | ||

Ok.. got it. PMP makes sense if you plan to move to new jobs and this will be an additional qualification which HR/Recruiter might consider before they filter out the resumes. And promotion within the company, it depends on your company. In my company, neither they raised salary nor gave a promotion. Anyways I'm not trying to discourage.... but giving you my side info about this certification. PMP exam pattern has changed last month. I don't know about the new exam pattern now... PMBOK is good source for understanding the principles and also for certification exam. There are many practice exams available online... you can test yourself against those sample questions. Lot of people follow PMP guide by 'Rita Mulcahy' Now tell me what help do you need for PMP certification... shoot your questions. You must be the change you wish to see in the world | ||
