Yep.. Nenu maa frnd gaadi intlo chooshna.. he has a remote too for this box. Things I considered are: 1. To see the downloaded content from internet, I need to transfer each time onto this box. 2. Atleast 2GB space. 3. AV quality.. quality ki praanam ichhe manishini nenu.. telsu kadaa.. 720p/1080p with DTS.. atleast DD annaa undaali. Jalsa: Laptop kaadu kaanee, desktop connect cheshetonni.. but max resolution is 480p and sound is degraded.. Laptop ni dedicate cheyyaali.. cost of the laptop is say 500.. PS3 is 500.. so what am i loosing? Ofcourse, laptop tho you can watch online movies, if they cannot be downloaded and tv9 laantivi kooda soodochhu.. I bet it would not understand the .mkv files. PS3 is a gaming console, bluray player, media client that plays streaming audio/video along with upconversion and support of newer HD codecs, built-in browser to surf internet, native YouTube support, on-demand game/movie downloads and the list goes on. There is no other network media player that can match PS3. Hands down the winner!! | ||

If it is your downloaded content from online then you should have gone for a cheaper solution.... my friend got a simple product for $80 and there is no setup required.. just drop the content into that drive (its like portable hard drive) irrespective of content type (wmv, vob, rm etc....) it will play the video/audio... its that simple. Me using mkv2vob and not sure what codec it uses. And me have a feeling that I loose the quality during this conversion [mkv to mpg2]. For some reaon PS3 is unable to stream DTS and I need to transcode the DTS to AAC. So, am I loosing any quality in both Audio and/or Video? You don't know unless your provider has some documentation. You can open service menu on tv, but only shows the display refresh rate, not the incoming signal.
Don't worry about refresh rate, your TV should show content with any rate. In fact, refresh rate is not part of HDTV spec.
Bit rate is what the content (audio/video) is encoded as, using the codec. For SD media, usual bit rates are 4-6 mbps (mpg2 video) and 640kbps (DD audio), 1.5mbps (DTS video). For HD content, the video goes for 20-25 mbps and HD audio takes 5-8 mbps. So, in theory 300mbps wireless bridge connection should work fine for HD streaming. If you have other devices hooked up to router and downloading lot of content, then video may throttle and look choppy. | ||
