its a very straight fwd process, you should have done it earlier
call up the irs and give them the company info and get the fed id number
it shouldnt take more than 2 or 3 days
since it's a 1099 anyway you can always give your ssn for the paperwork initially and then supplant the fed id if required

Hello Annavaram,

I haven't got the tax ID from California state.

Now I am about to get a good contract opportunity with $75/hr+expenses.
I would like to work on 1099.

What is involved in getting the tax ID?
How much does it cost and how long does it take?

Thanks

Obama

Hello All,

I started a company in California with the help of LegalZoom last year August.

I did nothing with the company.
I did my regular job as a W2 employee.
But now LegalZoom called me saying that "Registered Agent service is currently up for renewal. It is important to renew your Registered Agent service to keep in good legal standing with your secretary of state, protect your privacy and receive reliable forwarding service."

Looks like this renewal fee is only for LegalZoom and not from state of California.
If I stop taking LegalZoom service will my company still remain registered with the state of California?

Thanks in advance

Obama
